Which new features have been added?

This release adds support for the following new and exciting features:

iOS 12

Restrictions

  • Adds a setting to configure Date & Time automatically based on the current location and prevent users from changing it
  • Adds a setting to allow or disallow password AutoFill in apps and Safari
  • Adds a setting to require a user to authenticate before passwords or credit card information can be autofilled in apps or Safari on devices that support Touch ID or Face ID
  • Adds a setting to prevent requesting password sharing from nearby devices
  • Adds a setting to prevent sharing passwords through AirDrop

Mail settings

  • Improves S/MIME support

Exchange settings

  • Improves S/MIME support
  • Adds support for OAuth Authentication

Notifications

  • Adds a setting to mark notifications of certain apps to be ‘critical’, which will override Do Not Disturb
  • Adds a setting to prevent notifications from being shown in CarPlay
  • Adds a setting to configure notification grouping

tvOS 12

  • Adds a setting to prevent password sharing requests from nearby devices 
  • Adds support for installing Software Updates
  • Adds support for installing tvOS apps purchased through Apple School Manager

macOS 10.14

  • Adds a setting to allow or disallow password AutoFill in Safari
  • Adds a setting to prevent password sharing requests from nearby devices
  • Adds a setting to prevent sharing passwords through AirDrop
  • Adds OAuth authentication support for Exchange (EWS)
  • Adds the ability to display a message when applying a Device Lock
  • Adds support for the new Privacy Preferences Policy Control payload

Device Enrollment Program (DEP)

  • The macOS enrollment and setup assistant process is simplified to match the iOS enrollment process
  • Adds skip option in DEP profiles to skip the new “iMessage and FaceTime”, “Automatic Software Updates” and “ScreenTime” panes for iOS
  • Adds skip option in DEP profiles to skip the new “Choose Your Look” and “True Tone” panes for macOS
