How to remove a device from ZuluDesk Management System (ZMS)

In order to completely remove a device from ZMS, you have to un-enroll it first. After the device is no longer managed, you can remove it from the system. Please note that no management can be performed until the device is enrolled again!

Steps to take:

  • Un-enroll the device;
  • Remove the device.

Un-enroll the device:

Un-enrolling an device removes the MDM profile, all pushed configuration profiles and managed apps with the “Remove this app when the management profile is removed” option enabled. To do so:

  • In ZMS go to “Devices” -> “Overview”;
  • Search the device you want to un-enroll and click in it’s name;
  • Click on the “Un-enroll” and confirm by clicking the “Un-enroll Device” button in the popup that’ll appear;

  • The device will be marked as “unmanaged” and the MDM profile will be deleted from the device automatically when possible.

If the device does not come online, you can manually remove the MDM profile:

  • On the device, navigate to Settings > General > Device Management.
  • Select “ZuluDesk Management”, and touch “Remove” to delete the management profile and any managed configuration profiles installed via ZMS.

Remove the device:

Removing an device is irreversible and can only be performed on unmanaged devices. To do so:

  • In ZMS go to “Devices” -> “Overview”;
  • Search the device you want to un-enroll and click in it’s name;
  • Click on the “Move to trash” button and confirm by clicking the “OK” button in the popup that’ll appear.
